Careers · DACH-based, EU-pinned

Build the platform European regulators expect.

Quanterios is hiring engineers, security researchers, designers, and field architects across the EU. Real cryptography, real AI governance, real regulators, DORA, NIS2, eIDAS 2.0, EU AI Act, and a small team building the platform of record for European regulated industries.

Why work here

The mission isn't abstract. The customers are real. The deadlines exist.

NIST published the post-quantum cryptography standards in 2024. The EU AI Act started phasing in obligations in 2025. CNSA 2.0 timelines run through 2033. European banks have to produce DORA evidence right now. Hospitals operating clinical AI agents are inside NIS2 scope.

These are not future problems. They are this-quarter problems for the people you'd build the product with. Quanterios is small enough that everyone you ship next to is shipping directly into customer outcomes, no four-layer-deep approval chains, no abstract roadmaps.

We are pre-Series-A, EU-headquartered, building inside the Plothner Group operating model. We pay competitively, write contracts in €, support hours run on CET / GMT, and we mean it when we say we want a team that lives in Europe and cares about European compliance, not a remote-first catch-all.

Where we hire

Six areas. Senior bias. Open to conversations.

We aren't running an open-roles board today, we are talking to specific people for specific shapes of work. The areas below describe what we're hiring against. If any of them describe you, email us with a paragraph or two about what you'd build.

Area · 01
EU · DACH preferred
Engineering · backend · platform
Python · FastAPI · Postgres · ClickHouse · Vault

What you'd build · Build the discovery, scoring, migration, and API layers that the rest of the platform sits on. CBOM and AIBOM ingest pipelines, the Decision Engine reasoning fabric, the Crypto Agility API.

Who we're looking for · Senior backend engineers comfortable with cryptography, distributed systems, and the parts of Python that actually matter in production.

Area · 02
EU · DACH preferred
Engineering · frontend · product
Next.js · React · Tailwind · Framer Motion · Three.js

What you'd build · Ship the Quanterios product UI, dashboards, lifecycle views, evidence packets, runtime gate controls. Design-led engineering on a small team.

Who we're looking for · Frontend engineers with a real eye for type, motion, and editorial layout, not just component plumbing.

Area · 03
EU · DACH preferred
Security research · cryptography
ML-KEM · ML-DSA · SLH-DSA · OpenSSL · BoringSSL · BSI guidance

What you'd build · Drive Quanterios's cryptographic depth. PQC migration playbook authorship, vulnerability research, agility-API algorithm support, sandbox validation across regulated stacks.

Who we're looking for · Cryptography engineers or researchers who can read the FIPS 203/204/205 specifications and turn them into customer-grade defaults.

Area · 04
EU · DACH preferred
AI security & runtime
LLM safety · prompt-injection research · MCP · agentic systems

What you'd build · Build Quanterios AI's runtime gate. Output filtering, agent action validation, MCP scope policy, adversarial robustness pipelines, prompt-injection classifier ensembles.

Who we're looking for · AI security researchers or applied ML engineers who can ship classifiers into production traffic without false-positive disasters.

Area · 05
EU · DACH preferred
Field architecture · DACH
DORA · NIS2 · CNSA 2.0 · BSI · eIDAS 2.0 · German enterprise estates

What you'd build · Sit in front of CISOs, security architects, and compliance leadership at European regulated enterprises. Translate the platform into the customer's language; translate the customer's reality into product work.

Who we're looking for · Field architects with German-speaking enterprise experience and a real grounding in cryptographic governance or AI risk management.

Area · 06
EU · DACH preferred
Design · product + brand
Figma · brand systems · motion · documentation

What you'd build · Carry Quanterios's design system from the marketing site through the product surface, typography, illustration, motion language, evidence-packet PDF templates, CISO briefing layouts.

Who we're looking for · Designers comfortable with technical depth, you can sit in an architecture review and translate it into a visual that an auditor and a CTO both understand.

How we work

Six things you should know before applying.

01
Senior bias on a small team

Everyone ships into customer outcomes. No four-layer approval chains, no architecture committees that don't write code. The smallest team that can deliver wins.

02
Written-first by default

Decisions live in documents that survive personnel rotation. We default to writing instead of meeting; meetings exist to resolve specific blocks, not to broadcast.

03
EU-pinned, in-person quarterly

Day-to-day work happens remotely across the EU. We meet in person every quarter, typically Frankfurt, Berlin, or Zurich, for design weeks, customer days, and quarterly planning.

04
Customer-led roadmap

Every quarter, the team spends time with two or three real customers. The platform's roadmap moves toward what European regulated buyers actually need, not what an abstract roadmap committee thinks is interesting.

05
Compliance is also internal

We hold ourselves to the same standards we sell. ISO 27001 alignment in progress, GDPR-by-default in our own engineering, EU AI Act risk-tier discipline applied to our own AI components.

06
Defaults you can override with evidence

We have strong opinions about how to build, ship, and review work, but every default can be overridden if you bring evidence. Strong opinions, loosely held; engineering is a craft of trade-offs.

Package

Compensation, leave, setup, learning.

  • Meaningful equity in a pre-Series-A company

Learning
  • Conference and training budget per person per year

Process

How hiring actually works here.

No multi-month interview marathons. Practical exercise replaces whiteboard interviewing, and we pay for it. Total wall-clock time from first email to written offer is typically 2–3 weeks.

01
Email us

Tell us which area, what you'd build, and a paragraph about a thing you've shipped that you're proud of. Code samples, papers, design portfolios, whichever fits the role.

5 minutes
02
30-minute conversation

Mostly the founder or area lead. We talk about what you'd build, what you've built, and whether the work and the team feel right.

Within one week
03
Practical exercise

Real work shape. We pay you for it, you pick when to do it, and we use it to talk concretely instead of running fake whiteboard interviews.

4–6 hours · paid
04
Team conversations

Two or three conversations with people you'd ship next to. Two-way, we're checking fit, you're checking us.
